“We think carefully about who we invite each year,” Adams said. “The goal is a selection of employers that reflects where our students are headed.” She tries to maintain a balance between returning companies that have hired TUJ students and new employers from emerging fields of interest.

This year’s fair introduced several notable first-time participants. As TUJ’s computer science enrollment continues to grow, the Career Development Office invited ExaWizards, a fast-growing Japanese AI startup, to connect with students entering one of technology’s most dynamic fields. In the financial sector, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, one of Japan’s leading financial institutions, joined the fair for the first time. TBWA\HAKUHODO, a subsidiary of one of Japan’s major advertising groups, expanded the fair’s reach into the creative and communications industries. The event also welcomed LDH, reflecting the career office’s ongoing effort to respond to students’ growing interest in Japan’s entertainment sector.

“The feedback we received from both students and employers was really encouraging,” Adams said. “That kind of response tells us we’re moving in the right direction.”
