Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) has received a top-tier certification from Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare for its outstanding efforts in promoting female faculty members and staff. TUJ was awarded the “Eruboshi (Labor Star) Grade 3” certification, the top grade based on five evaluation criteria.

TUJ’s efforts have been recognized with the “Eruboshi Certification,” established under the Act on Promotion of Women’s Participation and Advancement in the Workplace. This certification is awarded to institutions that actively promote women’s empowerment and meet the ministry’s criteria through an application process through the prefectural labor bureau.

This certification evaluates institutions on five criteria:  employment, retention, working hours and styles, management representation, and career diversity. TUJ met the highest standards across all these categories, earning the grade 3 certification.
