The community of Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ), including faculty, alumni and staff, gathered on February 20, 2026, to honor alumni at the annual Distinguished Alumni Awards ceremony. The evening brought together members of the TUJ community to celebrate the fourth annual awards ceremony at the Tokyo American Club.

Takayuki Ide, Tomomi Sekioka and Neil Boyden Tanner were presented with awards at this year’s ceremony, joined by Yukari Kobayashi, a 2025 honoree who attended the event to formally accept hers. Dinner, drinks, speeches and conversation created a celebratory atmosphere as the evening opened with remarks from TUJ President and Dean Matthew Wilson, who highlighted the university’s growth and record-high enrollment in recent years.

Wilson also underscored the rapid expansion of TUJ Kyoto, which opened in January 2025 and has already tripled its enrollment to more than 300 students. Reflecting on overall enrollment, he noted that it took 36 years for undergraduate enrollment to surpass 1,000 students in 2018; in the latest semester, that figure has more than tripled to over 3,400 students.

Recipients expressed their gratitude in speeches after receiving the award, sharing how their experiences at TUJ played an important role in shaping their careers and contributing to their professional success. Below are the backgrounds of this year’s recipients.
