Sophia University and Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) successfully concluded their virtual career fair on October 11, 2023

Sophia University and Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) successfully concluded their virtual career fair on October 11, 2023, attracting a total of 221 students, the highest turnout ever. The career fair was held entirely in English, bringing together students and representatives of 13 prominent companies.

The annual joint career fair, which began in 2012, serves as a platform for students to connect with companies that prioritize recruiting individuals with international backgrounds regardless of their Japanese language proficiency. Most of these companies are seeking students who will graduate by spring 2025. Both universities extended their invitation to all students and recent alumni, including underclassmen. The event kicked off at 3:00 pm with each participating company delivering an introduction.

Following these company presentations, students transitioned into their breakout rooms, where they attended sessions hosted by individual companies. These allowed them to explore their areas of interest and provided an opportunity to engage in question-and-answer sessions with company representatives.  These informative sessions continued until 7:00 pm.

“We were happy to see so many talented students of both TUJ and Sophia University engaging with companies,” said Erica Adams, the director of the career development office at TUJ. “The enthusiasm and participation by both schools made this event a huge success.”

“Companies presenting at the fair showcased opportunities for students to work in diverse environments using English,” said Gary Auger from the Career Center at Sophia University. “It was a very rewarding occasion for students to network directly with these companies.”

Accenture Japan, Bulgari Hotel Tokyo, CBRE Japan, FTI Consulting, HTM Corporation, Inter-American Development Bank Group, JIT Group, Niseko Alpine Developments, Point72, the Ritz Carlton Tokyo, Teneo Partners Japan, the Tokyo EDITION and Vialto Partners.
