Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) Corporate Education held one-day training program on June 6 for 12 delegation members from the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, headed by Minister H.E. Mr. Narayon Chandra Chanda.

In Bangladesh, the amount of food derived from animals is increasing while the national inspection system guaranteeing food safety is not well established. TUJ arranged the program for the members to learn about the implementation of laws and regulations in Japan.

TUJ Dean Bruce Stronach introduced the university to the participants, and Minister H.E. Mr. Narayon Chandra Chanda explained the delegation’s mission. The minister presented a souvenir to the dean. Participants then received briefings on Japanese culture and animal-based foods, as well as an overview of the history and current situation of the livestock industry and food-related issues in Japan. The participants visited two inspection laboratories in Tokyo, where they received lectures on animal products and the food safety system in Japan and observed the process on the spot.
