Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ), has started a two-week training program for government officials from the Ministry of Finance of Indonesia, from June 28 at Hotel Asia Center of Japan in Akasaka. Thirty participants from Indonesia are attending the tailor-made non-degree program entitled “Training and Developing Human Resources”. The program is under the Professional Human Resource Development Project, Phase III (PHRDP-III) funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as part of a Japanese ODA Loan signed by the governments of Indonesia and Japan in 2006. TUJ conducted a similar program for the Ministry of Finance of Indonesia in December 2009 which focused on e-learning methodologies.
The course covers a range of subjects relevant to training management and human resource development. The course also includes on-site visits to locations such as the Tokyo Development Learning Center and the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Topics include:
- The Role of HRD
- Performance Management
- Instructional Design and Delivery
- Training Evaluation
- Strategic Positioning of the Training Department
When the participants return home, they will apply the knowledge and skills they have learned from TUJ to help develop specialized training programs in Indonesia.
The TUJ Corporate Education Program offers tailor-made training programs to companies and organizations of various sizes, with approximately 1,000 corporate employees attending training sessions each year. The repeat selection of TUJ by the Indonesian ministry highlights TUJ’s capabilities to offer quality programs and flexibility to customize contents meeting client needs. TUJ plans to increase the number of training programs it offers to governmental organizations.
