The Academic English Program (AEP) at Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) will host Japanese high school students who were selected as winners of an essay contest organized by the Institution for International Business Communication (IIBC). As a prize, TUJ will offer the winners complimentary access to its English course.
This collaboration with IIBC, which promotes and administers the TOEIC® Program in Japan, aligns with AEP’s mission to deliver high-quality English education to students preparing to study abroad at universities and graduate schools, as well as to offer intensive English courses designed for adults with a variety of purposes.
This is the first time TUJ has partnered with IIBC on such an initiative. The essay contest winners will have the opportunity to enroll in AEP’s “College English Course for High School Students” at no cost, between January and March.
This essay contest is also supported by entities including Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and the U.S. Embassy and sponsored by the America-Japan Society, Inc.
TUJ supports internationally minded learners in achieving their educational and career aspirations by fostering a multicultural, cooperative, and innovative mindset. Dedicated to bridging cultures, TUJ strives to globalize higher education and cultivate excellence, ensuring student success.
To further this mission, TUJ has constantly strengthened partnerships through various initiatives. For instance, AEP annually attracts more than 1,000 elementary, junior high, and high school students to its intensive summer English programs. These “study abroad in Japan” experiences immerse students in English through expert faculty, student assistants representing a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and customized programs tailored to each student’s proficiency.
