On September 14, Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) welcomed its new dean, Matthew (Matt) Wilson. He graduated from the Beasely School of Law at Temple University Main Campus and studied at TUJ in the study abroad program.
Wilson served as director of the law program at TUJ from 2003 to 2005, and as senior associate dean from 2004 to 2009. He became a professor and Law School Dean at the University of Akron School of Law, Ohio, USA, in 2014, and became president of the university in 2016. Wilson then worked as a president of Missouri Western State University, Missouri, USA, from 2019.
Upon his start as TUJ dean, Wilson said,” I am so excited to be back in Tokyo leading my alma mater.”
His appointment came as the former dean Bruce Stronach retired after 13 years in the office.
