Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) announced that, effective immediately, Ms. Midori Kaneko, Director of Corporate Communications for Amway Japan, will be taking over as the Chairperson of the TUJ Board of Governors.

In her present position, Ms. Kaneko is responsible for Corporate Branding, Media Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility. Her strong abilities in marketing, brand and communications come from deep and broad experience in the field as Communications Director at Nestle Japan and as Corporate Affairs Officer for Citigroup before moving to Amway Japan this past March.

The TUJ Board of Governors serves to support and advise the Dean on a wide range of matters dealing with the management and development of TUJ.* Ms. Kaneko has been an active supporter of TUJ in her past five years as the Board member.

Commenting on the appointment, Ms. Kaneko said: “I have always been a big fan of TUJ and I believe that TUJ has a much bigger role to play for the Japanese education and potential for the region. With all of our energy and believe put together, both TUJ staff and the Board, I believe we can accomplish a lot.”

TUJ Dean Bruce Stronach said: “I am certain that she will bring innovative and dynamic leadership to the Board that has been without a Chairperson for almost five years. Ms. Kaneko’s intellect, knowledge and skills in her specialty fields, in combination with her personal vitality, will be of invaluable support to TUJ’s future development.”

Note: TUJ’s Board of Governors is not equivalent to the Board of Trustees which is legally responsible for the entire management of the university’s business and affairs.
